June 4 Highlights
Double Header before Legendary Scout
Cade played in a double header against the Cloverdale College Prep Team (1st place). The exciting part of the day was that the legendary Canadian Scout Walt Burrows came to the ball park to watch. Before the game Kyle Lotzkar threw a bull pen for Mr. Burrows and was signed by the Minnesota Twins on Sunday. Mr. Burrows stayed to watch the first game as he saw Cade pitch in January and wanted to see where he was at now in June.
Cade started the first game that ended as a 7-6 win. Cade pitched 4 1/3 innings in his longest outing this season. He left the game @5-1. He walked 4 and gave up 1 unearned run. Cade gave up 2 hits and struck out 8. Cade was 86-87 on the mound with the fast ball. Cade has been working on his mechanics with Coach Shawn Corness to solidify his control.
In the second game he was 2 for 4 with a walk. The game was tied at 0-0 until the 11th inning. The game was tied 1-1 after 11. The game finished in the 12th. 4-1 after using the international tie breaking rules. Cade played first and had 4 quality at bats. 2 singles and move the runner to 3rd. Next up is a game Wednesday and then the BC Selects tryout on Friday. On the weekend, the Chilliwack Cougars will be playing in Tacoma (Pierce County) Summer Kick off.
