Cade pitched on Saturday versus the Okanagan A's at Delair. It was Cade's first start of the season. To this point he has pitched just over 5 innings in 3 appearances on the mound. He has 14 Ks in those appearances. On Saturday Cade started the game. In the first inning he was strong facing 4 hitters. Cade walked one. Striking out 2 and getting the other to pop out to him. He hit 88.9 on the fastball. Below is the video for the outing.

In the second inning, Cade broke a bat on a change up that showed good movement. Cade walked one. He struck out one more and gave up a hit to remain scoreless. In the third inning, Cade showed some good velocity but his stamina started to wane. He gave up a couple of walks on close pitches and hit a batter on a curveball. One run scored on a passed ball. Cade was taken out of the game with the bases loaded. In that inning the other team ended up scoring 4 runs in total.

Cade was pleased with the movement on his pitches and the highest velocity he has thrown in a game. It is clear that he needs to work on his stamina and his focus on control so as not to give up those walks.
